Approaching Critical Mass

December 3, 2009 under Uncategorized

No, I’m not talking about the size of GM’s bureaucracy. I’m talking about the size of their criticism, when someone purporting to be the ex leader’s daughter razzed them on facebook.

“The message was posted on GM’s page on Facebook within minutes of the announcement.

It was removed by GM, but not before it was picked up by car industry blog Jalopnik.com, which copied the page and reposted it on its own site”

There’s a critical mass for information, after which the story is out and there’s nothing you can do about it. Once a certain number of people have heard, you can’t contain it. On the internet the critical mass required for this is almost non-existent.

As soon as it’s posted, it’s posted to thousands/millions. People hear incredibly quickly and they tell incredibly quickly.

It’s the best gossip engine ever.

That explains a lot, doesn’t it?

Winter Poetry – Snow party

December 1, 2009 under poetry

When Winter ‘just happens’ one weekend
It leaves a five month hangover.
And the Monday morning wind
Says, “It’s time for longjohns.”
