From the BBC…
Amy Winehouse whacked a fan.
Big news? Not really.
Amy Winehouse was caught on camera, whacking a fan.
Big news? You betcha.
I’m not a big fan of “entertainment” news and I can live without knowing all the juicy exclusive details of the latest celebrity’s latest fall from grace.
But I’m even less of a fan of cameras everywhere.
Amy suffers because she is a target for cameras. The reason most people feel private (even with cameras everywhere) is that they’re sure that no-one wants to photograph them; that they’re not a target.
That’s a very shaky assumption, not least because a world where everyone has a camera is a world where everyone is looking to photograph something.
